We All Know a Benny

He’s in every corridor, every classroom, every unit. Withdrawn. Frustrated. Always on edge. He's not bad, he’s broken and nobody’s asked why. Benny carries trauma, not trouble. But without early intervention, that pain turns into exclusion, criminalisation, or worse. This is the reality I’ve witnessed for over a decade. And I’ll say it plainly we lose young people not because they’re unreachable but because we waited too long to act. Moor Elite exists to stop that clock. Watch the video and ask yourself, how many Benny's have you already walked past?

Meet our founder Azi Azonga, BSc, MA – Director of Moor Elite Project CIC

After over a decade supporting vulnerable young people across local authorities, schools, hospitals and residential care, I knew something had to change. I grew tired of watching elite potential go unseen. Young people operating from survival mode, struggling to regulate emotions, make sense of their world or find the right kind of support. Not because they were bad, but because they were overwhelmed by instability, emotional pressure, and a lack of safe spaces to grow. Many came from homes filled with chaos. Most were just trying to navigate life without the emotional tools to do so.

That’s why I created Moor Elite. Not as a tick box service, but as a movement rooted in compassion, intervention, and truth. I hold a BSc in Health Policy & Management and a Master’s in Youth Justice, Community Safety & Applied Criminology. But my real education came from sitting face-to-face with the very young people society labelled hard to reach.

This work is personal. It always has been because every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and supported before it’s too late.

OUR CORE VALUES: BUILDING A FOUNDATION FOR LASTING CHANGE

High-risk youth don’t need empty promises—they need structure, consistency, and unwavering support.
At Moor Elite, our values are not just words—they are the principles that drive real impact and transformation.

PEOPLE MATTER – EVERY YOUNG PERSON DESERVES A CHANCE

📌 The Problem: Too many young people feel discarded by the system.
📌 Our Promise: Every child is valued, respected, and given the tools to succeed. We don’t treat them as case numbers—we see them as futures worth investing in.

BEING HEARD – AMPLIFYING THE VOICES THAT GO UNNOTICED

📌 The Problem: Many young people in care feel invisible, unheard, and ignored.
📌 Our Promise: We create safe spaces for expression, ensuring their voices are acknowledged, their struggles are understood, and their needs are met.

CONSISTENCY – BECAUSE CHANGE DOESN’T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT

📌 The Problem: One-off interventions don’t work. Many programmes fail because they lack follow-through.
📌 Our Promise: Moor Elite provides ongoing support, ensuring that young people don’t just receive help—they receive consistent, structured, and long-term guidance.

KINDNESS – BUILDING TRUST THROUGH COMPASSION

📌 The Problem: Many young people have only experienced judgment, punishment, and rejection.
📌 Our Promise: We lead with empathy and patience, understanding that behind every difficult behaviour is a story that needs healing. Trust is earned through kindness, not control.
